I have a highly modified Crack; I have an almost stock SEX 2.1; I have a Bryston HPA-1.

Do I need a Mainline? 15% off offer in effect makes it tempting-

Headphones are Sennheiser HD600, Beyerdynamic T1 2nd gen; Hifiman HE560

Crack/Speedball & SEX 2.1/C4S

Sennheiser HD600/Cardas cable, & Hifimam HE560

Well, I have a Crack, a S.E.X. 2.1, a Crack-A-Two-A, and I just bought a Mainline.

So...Yes.  ;D

Mainline worked very well with my T1 gen 1.

If you like both your modded Crack and stock Sex the odds are high you will be over the moon with a Mainline. But you do know that when you get the Mainline your going to suddenly get a itch to add a HD800 to your collection ;)

Shoot for the moon if you miss you will still be amongst the stars!

Well, if you're going to get serious, then I think (tongue in cheek) that you need at least one amp per set of cans andIEMs that sound best with those particular listening devices.

So, if I could follow my own rules, I'd have an amp for the Senn HD-600s, one for the PM3s, one for the upgraded Shure SE-425s, and one for the 1More Triple Drivers.

I do have a Dragonfly Red attached to the back of my iPod, but I don't yet know how well it works with any of these cans/IEMs, but the point is portability, not ultimate sound quality.

When my s.e.x. 2.1 is done, that will go with the   HD-600s, for example. I've heard that combination many times, and I love it for true musical listening.

Half seriously,

Jim

All ICs homemade (speaker and power next)

I've built a highly modified Crack, I have a highly modified B.A. Crack, I've built another Crack and sold it.  I own a S.E.X. and have a Mainline.

Damn straight you should have a Mainline!  Plan on getting "serious" after that...   :o

I have to agree with Jim. The S.E.X. amp with Sennheiser HD600's is a very special combination. I've spent many hundreds of hours of listening with that setup.

Caveat. I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing the sound of a Mainline. I was going to pick one up during the last sale but unfortunately had to replace a dodgy dish washer instead. The wife was happy, me, not so much. ;)

I regret I missed out on the S.E.X. amp but only a little, the Mainline with TL-404s to HD-800's is special.  I didn't think the stock Mainline could be beat and it's a GREAT amp.  Everyone needs a Mainline, it is a significant step above the Crack amp.  I can only imagine what the Neo 845 sounds like.  Hopefully one day I either win the lottery and buy the one offered or make it up to Washington to hear the original.
