Hey all, I just purchased a Winged "C" 6H13C for my bottlehead crack, but it has a humming sound that does not go away at low volume or high volume. I know the issue lies with this tube because my other tubes are dead quiet with my amp.
Is this normal?

Common problem with NOS tubes. Contact the seller for another.
I've got a box full of "musical" and thus unusable NOS tubes.
On another note. Some new production tubes (PSVANE 12au7) die fast too IME.

On occasion I have found some NOS tubes can be a little noisy you could try leaving it running for a day or two, the noise might disappear with a bit of prolonged use.

Shoot for the moon if you miss you will still be amongst the stars!

Let that tube run in the amp for 50 hours, just to be sure it doesn't settle down with some use.
