Just as an idle question, can the BeePre be converted to run on 2A3 tubes like my Paramounts were set up?

I guess you know the 6A3 drops right into the BeePre, essentially the same as the 2A3 but with a 6V filament.

Heck, Chris, I didn't know there was such a thing as a 6A3 tube.  The reason I ask is the 2A3 has long been my favorite tube, but I converted to 300B for more power.  Now doing the unforgivable and using a PP amp with 15 mighty watts.  There is a lot of talk on AudioCircle about a new preamp from another mftr using 2A3 tubes, but it is terribly spendy.  If I do decide to go that way, this is in my meager budget.  Thanks

Read the old threads from Xavier and I. We both used 6A3 or variants (8 pin vs 4 pin) in our BeePre's.

The BeePre cannot be converted to use 2A3 tubes, as they require too much filament current compared to the 300B or 6A3.

I only use 6A3 now. Got an nos matched pair of tungsol' sand I love them. Much less of a problem with microphonics.
