Hey all has anyone tried out the Tex cap teflon capacitors? I have seen a few about that are reportedly made to high specifications for use in oil wells for down hole duty. Wire line logging maybe at a guess.

Cheers
Jamie

Just a little follow up on the Tex-cap Teflons, I ended up purchasing some pairs of the 0.5uf 50v 1% ones to try out they are destined for the Quickie but for the time being I've been trying them out in a little jfet phono I have as I can leave it on shuffle playing itunes from the ipod to burn them in.

Anyhow right from the get go they sounded amazing definitely right up there with the very best sounding caps I have tried so far and I’m looking forward to getting them in the Quickie after some burning in.

I am surprised, as the metallized Teflon caps I have tried were quite harsh even after 1000 hours.

They surprised me, I really wasn’t expecting the results but they certainly improved 3D imaging very good transparency and resolution and beautiful liquid mids. I will be picking up some more if I see them. They replaced some Russian k42y-2 PIO's

You might be interested in trying these as polystyrene caps are generally highly regarded.

Cheers Mark I will do some reading up on them.  The only polystryrene caps I have tried sounded a bit strident to me. Maybe the lower voltages ones are different to the higher rated ones .
