Hello!

Just finished my first Bottlehead kit. Really loved the process! It sounds great!
I am used to some high quality sound - my media room has a Stax SR-009 / Blue Hawaii SE / PS Audio Directstream DAC... and the Crack is certainly not disappointing.

Question - the 2x 3K resistors that get quite hot - is there an issue if one of the wires is touching them? The 5" white wire from 5L to B4 is between these resistors and the top plate... as per the instructions. Is it a problem if the resistors touch this wire?

Thanks

You should have some air between the resistors and the white wire. As you point out those 3K resistors get pretty warm. Take a moment to redress the white wire away from the resistors so it does not touch. You will notice that those resistors are at a slight angle where they go from the lower holes (7L, 9L) on one end to the upper hole (twisted end 3U). Work the wire so it goes under the twisted end (3U) as best you can.

NOTE: if you plan on installing the Speedball those 3K resistors are removed.
