Shorted plugs?

Do you suggest shorting unused jacks with your products? I assume there may be a problem with selecting the shorted jacks accidentally from the source selector. But I have read that there may be some advantage to doing this to cut stray noise. Not having a problem but wondering. thanks!

We recommend shorting plugs when measuring voltages, and especially noise voltages.
There is no problem with selecting a shorted input, I don't think any of us has ever recommended for or against them.
