Got less than 1 volt on test #1 ( page28 ).  Went back and checked all the solder connections and they seemed OK.

I don't have a S3X, but the first voltage test on BH amps is often to test DC voltage after being rectified from AC voltage. If you are supposed to get 100+ volts DC and are seeing less than 1 volt, I'd double check that your meter is set for DC (straight lines) and not AC (wavy line).

I'd also double check that the fuse is inserted in the correct holder position. There are likely 2 positions - the lower one is the correct one; the upper is just a storage space for a spare fuse.

Also: I'm assuming the amp passed all resistance checks?

If none of the above help, I'd post some detailed pics of the wiring.

cheers, Derek

The test on page 28 is well before the amp is even wired up. It's to determine how the power transformer should be wired, so it needs to be in AC, not DC.

Derek's troubleshooting notes are a good place to start (minus the DC thing). Also check the batteries on your DMM.

That is a test of your incoming line voltage, not the power transformer.

Did you install the fuse?  Is it in the correct spot?

Got it.  Fuse was not in the right place. Now measures 124v.
First time on the forum.  If I had read further into the forum I would have seen this problem answered already!  Thanks!
