Hi,
I consider buying a turntable and a phono preamp with a budget about 500$ each. I did some research and found that in Europe a good piece of hardware is Pro-Ject X1 Turntable with Pick it S2 MM cartridge. My second option is Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB (DC) with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. The turntables are with acrylic platter and are full manual, no preamp. Also the color matches my current setup.  ;D
I'd like to get the Reduction preamp because I really like to build these things and it is really satisfying.

Probably no one in the forum have this combination but I'd like to ask if there is something wrong with the combination of the preamp and the cartridge. For example recommended load capacitance for the cartridge 150pF, the preamp - 50pF, cartridge output of 7mV.

Here is the info regarding the cartridges. They look pretty common:

I used an ortorofon 2m red with a reduction on a different turntable and liked the combination a lot. Not sure if that helps you.

Thank you, it is important to me to know that the pair is working. I do not have experience with the turntables so every information is valuable.

It looks like the 2M Red is closer to the design center of the Reduction. The Integration upgrade (after you have enjoyed the stock build) IMO is very worthwhile both in terms of sound and a little extra output.
I use the 2M Red on my Rega-based TT and am happy with the sound.

I have a pro-ject debut carbon with the ortofon red cartridge (not the acrylic platter) it was first paired with a seduction pre-amp and was great, and now running through an Eros, couldn't be happier with the performance!
