So I have been playing around with different tubes :)

Might be forming a slight obsession evidence attached haha... (tubes for SMII and Moreplay)

anyhow my question is this when I used a different set of tubes there was a different sound when you switch the amp on a slight crackle I have not checked which tube exactly but I wondered if this is normal and even more interested to find out what it is I am hearing ?

Some noise during warmup is completely normal.  If the noise persists, then it may help to do a bit of debugging to find the source.

Thanks ill try and isolate it and see if it is a specific tube / tubes doing it...

It is only during warmup after it sounds great.

Not a steromour, but I was also surprised to hear this startup noise on my s.e.x. amp when listening through headphones. It's like a glassy tinkly crackly sound that lasts for just a few seconds. It's rather pleasurable actually!

Figure you take a precision device, from room temperature to too hot to handle and hit it with high voltage,I little snap, cracke and pop should come as no surprise...John
