The washers are a great idea with the hammerite paint.

Looks great. Did you add an extra output?

Source: Lumin D2 with SBooster power supply, 2tb SSD attached to Lumin, Pre: Moreplay, Amp: Bryston 2bSST, Speakers: Joseph Audio RM22XL. Setup in large, well treated dedicated listening space.

Yes, I needed an extra output for my sub
Just got it hooked into the system. Two JE Labs Simple 45 modified to run 2A3s, big Edcor iron. So far it sounds fantastic 😍.

Might need to go back to my Foreplay III, Moreplay is broke in, but too harsh.
I have a set of NOS 6v6 on the way. Hope that does the trick.

Try the NOS metal tube RCA 6v6's. There used to be a seller on eBay or Amazon. They sound great to my old ears.

I was looking at the metal tube. Reasons for not using, got too hot. Kind of silly, just don't touch it.

This is indeed a silly reason.  The 300Bs and 2A3s in our amps get much hotter.

Can't wait till Western Electric builds a 2a3. I found some new in the box 6v6 cans.

Western Electric is very unlikely to make 2A3s.  There are still a zillion RCA, Sylvania, and GE 2A3s floating around for reasonable prices relative to spending $1500+ on WE ones.

WE mostly made unique designs and seldom made a version of some other manufacturer's design. 2A3 was an RCA invention, originally a single plate tube with a proportionately higher plate impedance than the later biplate 2A3, thus creating difficulties in designing an amp to use either variant. WE made the WE275, which has more or less biplate 2A3 operating specs but has a 5V filament rather than 2.5V. So you're going to need a 300B amp to run a WE275 in order to get close to creating a "WE 2A3 amp", or to modify a 2A3 amp designed for biplate 2A3s by changing to a 5V filament supply. Yup, it gets very confusing.

FWIW Psvane makes a supposed 'WE275 type' tube with a 2.5V filament. For me this is the same crime as all of the '300B' variants made in the past that had different specs than a WE300B like higher plate dissipation and higher filament current and voltage. If it is a different tube, just naming it the same does not make it any closer.

I was just hoping for the 300b with 2.5 filament. They are half way there.

It won't give you any more power in a 2A3 amp unless you make substantial changes to the amp itself (usually involving changing the power transformer and output iron).

I need to be patient with the Moreplay. I installed KT-75 coupling caps instead of stock. I do know the Russian caps take a while to break in. My Foreplay III has Aricaps, might be the Aricaps sound I'm looking for.
