Hi,  My crack is hurting...um wait....When I turn on my crack... :-\ When I turn on my amp, I get a loud zipper-like sound in the headphones for several seconds, then all's well...no noise. Usually the zipper ends w/ a pop or crack sound. It only happens on cold start and it will always happen now, but not if I turn it off and then quickly back on. It is not either of the tubes. It does not happen when warmed-up...but, it will Pop when I turn it off IF its been on awhile...or so it seems. It is independent of the volume and input as well.

Any solutions?

Yours sadely, zipperhead

Check all your solder joints. Verify the filter capacitor orientations. Redo voltage measurements.

There is a sticky in the Crack folder about eliminating warm up thumps and pops.  Try that modification as well.

This is a new development, right?  How long has the Crack been operating?

Yes, this is a new development. I have used it heavily for over a year now. I have had some noisy tubes in it of late but fixed them.
