record player placement

Hi,

How far away from power strips/wireless routers/sources of potential noise should a record player be?  I'm thinking of getting a record player, but am concerned that the placement may be less than optimal (there is a router and power strip a foot or so away).  Any thoughts?

 Our router is across the room. I haven't had any issues with the pwr strip. Your could just shut off the router while spinning.
