BeePre / Re: Resistance Check on 52

Does this tell you anything Paul? These values seem to be correct, and double checking it looks like I've got all the resistors in the right spots. I just cant figure out why my resistance readings are so off...

Sublime Subwwofer Amplifier kit / Shielded twisted pair cable
« Last post by benzxc on Yesterday at 05:57:06 AM »
I was wondering where I can get some more of the shielded twisted pair cable (and the other solid core wires for that matter). I cut some the wrong length and did a poor job of stripping the outer jacket off the shielded one.

BeePre2 is about 11.5"Dx17.5"Wx9" H. Allow an inch or two clearance above that for air flow.

Crack / Issues after volume mod

Here was my first attempt where I didn't understand where I was supposed to use the 33k resistors: https://forum.bottlehead.com/index.php?topic=15365.0

On my second attempt I used two 33K resistors. When I first tested, there was no sound in the right channel and the left channel would play music even when the pot was all the way down. I made sure this was the Crack by swapping the rca cables (still no sound in right) and testing the headphones with the same cable on another amp.

I went back and redid a couple of the solder joints to ensure everything was done correctly. When I tested after the attempted repair, there is still no sound in the right channel. Now there is a loud buzz in the left channel and the volume is very loud in the left channel when the pot is at the lowest setting.

Is it possible I damaged the pot? I triple checked the wiring and nothing should be loose or anything.

Thanks! Can I also get the dimensions for the BeePre 2 as well? Especially the height with the stock tubes. I know 300Bs run quite hot so I need to make sure I have enough top ventilation.

The 4-130’s are reading 117.2-117.8

B4 is 218 measured the same way

Can you unplug the 6080 and see if that changes the voltages coming out of the small board?

Thank you so much for your reply.

1. Both halves of the 12AU7 glow.
2. Both LEDs for the right channel don't seem to light up - but we do measure voltage (ca 175 and 182 V). The voltage for A3 and A8 is 1.5V

Can you verify the resistance of the 130 ohm resistors?  You should be able to just measure across them with your meter with no 300B in the socket.

Also verify that the resistor attached to B4 is reading correctly.
